“Les Begeries du Cabardès” is a rare find, set in the heart of a quintessential French village yet in a large walled garden with a swimming pool. Created with flair and care out of two former sheep barns, “Les Begeries du Cabardès” comprise Susan and Louis's own home, “La Bergerie”, and three exceptional gîtes, “Na Indra” (on the first floor of “La Bergerie”, with independent access), “A Sulana” and “A Casetta” (adjacent apartments in the second, single-storey barn conversion.

“A Casetta” and “A Sulana”

During a meticulous recent renovation, we transformed our second barn into two high quality gîtes, “A Casetta” and “A Sulana”. You can reserve a single gîte or the complete building.
The gîtes face south with a view of the Pyrenees, a natural advantage which the creation of a broad terrace extending along the whole building puts to full use. By retaining the original roof trusses, by gleaning objects from local “brocanteurs” and by careful choice of materials we have given old charm to the new interiors. These wonderfully light and airy spaces form the ideal background for imaginative but sober decor and contemporary comfort.

“A Casetta” (for 2-3 people)

A beautiful and very luminous studio. From the private south-facing terrace you enter by large French windows into the eating/relaxing space, and thence to the bedroom area (double bed). Next you find a fully equipped open-plan kitchenette (fridge, microwave, induction hob, mini dishwasher, washing machine) a lovely shower room, and a separate WC. 

“A Sulana” (for 4-5 people)

A very bright and airy apartment which offers the rare luxury of a shower room for each of its 2 bedrooms. One of these charming bedrooms (king-sized double), as well as the lovely sitting/dining room lead, via wide French windows onto the extensive south- facing terrace. The second bedroom has twin beds which can be transformed into an extra-wide double bed. An open-plan fully equipped kitchen (big fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, oven, induction hob) complete this very comfortable apartment. In order to receive you in comfort in winter, the apartment boasts, in addition to its electric heaters, a charming old wood-burning stove.

“Na Indra” (for 2-3 people)

“Na Indra” is the ultimate romantic hideaway with its private access and extensive roof terrace facing south to the Pyrenees. Under the splendid original roof beams nothing separates the double bed from the corner bath, creating a stylish and sensual cocoon. A kitchen corner with a small fridge, single induction hob, microwave, grill and breakfast bar completes this romantic retreat. 

“Gîte plus” for short breaks

Our “Gîte plus” formula enables you to stay in one of our gîtes for just a night (or more) without worrying about buying breakfast supplies as we supply you with a basket of goodies for you to prepare your own continental breakfast. Linen and cleaning are also included so it’s like staying in a bed and breakfast, with the freedom of having breakfast, and being able to chill your wine or make a cup of tea or coffee, whenever you want, in your own accommodation. Outside the summer season “Gîte plus” is available from one night in all our gîtes; in summer it is available in Na Indra for a minimum stay of 2 nights.

Welcome Pack
Whatever formula you choose you will find a welcome pack of essentials so that you can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and can freshen up without having to rush out to the shops because you’re lacking loo paper, soap, filter papers, washing up liquid, a sponge, tea, coffee, sugar, salt and pepper, and the other little things which we take for granted at home and which are so irritating to find you haven't got!

The daybeds in “A Casetta” and “Na Indra” can sleep a child, as can the extra bed available for the twin room of “A Sulana”

Free WiFi is available in all gîtes, and there is space for car parking within the property.

For everyone's comfort, all our gîtes are no-smoking.
